Job summary

A six-month rotational Occupational Therapist post at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, moving between seven clinical teams including cardiology, stroke and hand therapy. The role centres on managing a specialist inpatient caseload, completing ward assessments and planning safe discharges, while supporting junior staff and students.

Some teams run seven-day rotas, and flexible working requests will be considered.

Qualifications

• Ongoing professional development evidenced.
• Post-graduate training in relevant clinical areas.
• Experience teaching patients, carers, peers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist inpatient caseload and complete ward assessments.
• Plan safe discharges and contribute to MDT decisions.
• Supervise junior staff, students and assistants; mentor and preceptors.
• Participate in clinical audits and service improvement.
• Support seven-day rotas and flexible working requests.
