Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bedford Hospital South Wing is recruiting a Band 5 Occupational Therapist. The rotational post offers exposure to acute hospital settings and a range of specialties, working within multidisciplinary teams to develop clinical skills.

You will join supportive OT teams with Band 7 Team Leads and Band 6 senior therapists, receive supervision, and contribute to the Prevention of Deconditioning Team to promote patient independence and recovery.

Qualifications

• Undertake comprehensive therapeutic assessments across physical and psychological conditions.
• Work within MDTs to identify OT needs and plan interventions.
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning to treatment.
• Support and supervise students on observational placements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive therapeutic assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
• Manage an allocated caseload independently and contribute to a designated ward.
• Deliver autonomous OT interventions using clinical judgement and evidence.
• Supervise and mentor work experience students and ensure professional conduct.
• Participate in clinical audits, service evaluations and research projects.
