Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Rotational Band 6 Occupational Therapist based at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. The post offers rotations across Acute medical wards, HCOOP, Critical Care, A&E and Trauma/Orthopaedics, with scope to gain further specialty experience.

You will assess and treat patients on the acute wards, contribute to discharge planning and deputise for the Team Leader as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Occupational Therapist (HCPC).
• Experience in acute medical settings is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan and evaluate patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload and perform assessments and formulations.
• Facilitate safe discharge planning from hospital to community.
• Deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues.
• Support training for new graduates, student therapists and support workers.
• Promote OT role within the MDT and uphold service values.
