Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting for a senior engineering lead overseeing the construction and commissioning of major transmission substations. The role requires technical leadership of rotating plant systems, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to programme timelines.

You will work with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to drive engineering governance, documentation, and FAT/QA activities across a £50m–£200m project portfolio. A degree in engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Significant engineering experience in rotating plant systems for large-scale power infrastructure.
• Experience with synthesis, testing, commissioning and operational support across project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, governance, risk management and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for rotating plant activities across projects.
• Ensure safety, quality and compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
• Prepare responses to technical queries and manage nonconformances and risks.
• Review technology submissions and support approval processes with Technical Authorities.
• Liaise with stakeholders to develop Technical Authority schedules and governance.
