Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer to own and write technical specifications for civil works related to substations, including buildings, bunds and trenches, in the energy sector.

You will review and update specs based on lessons learnt and lead on introducing new technology for substation construction.Represent Transmission at industry events (ENA, CIGRE), participate in supplier meetings and TO forums, and provide SME input to design reviews to ensure proposals are fit for

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution.
• Expert-level experience in design, specification, construction, operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure in the energy sector.
• Knowledge of British and European Standards related to civil infrastructure.
• Strong organisation, project management and interpersonal skills across broad areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain and own technical specifications for civil works in substations.
• Review and update specifications based on lessons learnt from projects.
• Represent Transmission at industry events (ENA, CIGRE) and attend supplier meetings.
• Lead introduction of new technology for substation construction.
• Provide guidance to Project Engineering, Asset Management and Operations on civil scope.
• Provide SME input to design reviews to verify proposals are fit for purpose.
