Job summary

Network Rail Scotland is seeking a dedicated Rostering Co-ordinator for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will compile and publish rosters, cover sickness, leave, training and special arrangements, and liaise with line managers.

The role requires strong data analysis, attention to detail and excellent communication, with ownership of competency records and fatigue data to support route delivery.

• Experience prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience analysing data and producing reports.
• Understanding of conditions of service applicable to rostering.
• Understanding of roster systems.
• Ability to manage data accurately and with attention to detail.
• Experience working in a team and with virtual teams.

Responsibilities

• Compile and publish rosters using the corporate rostering tool per Maintenance Rostering Principles and company policies.
• Prepare rosters for weekly duties including sickness, annual leave, training, briefing and special arrangements.
• Liaise with line managers to crosscheck roster data and respond to queries.
• Make roster arrangements for medical examinations and interviews.
• Arrange rosters for safety-critical competence expiries, training plans and briefings.
• Monitor competency data to ensure no base roster shifts are left uncovered due to expired competencies.
• Liaise with Competency Delivery Specialist on maintaining competency records.
• Gather and analyse fatigue data and highlight issues to the relevant line manager.
• Provide information and data to support route and delivery unit reporting requirements.
