Job summary

St. George's Nursery invites applications for a Nursery Room Leader role. You will lead a small in-room team, liaise with families and uphold high standards of care, education and safeguarding, while guiding staff to deliver exceptional early years support.

You should hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) with strong EYFS knowledge, and be prepared for an enhanced DBS check. A rewarding leadership path within our caring nursery group awaits.

Qualifications

• Holding a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Good understanding of the EYFS and ability to maintain development records.
• Enhanced DBS check and references required; safeguarding focus.
• Childcare experience: 3 years+; management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team in your room and support staff to deliver high-quality care.
• liaise with parents, carers and family members to maintain strong relationships.
• Maintain EYFS standards and keep records of children's progress and routines.
• Ensure smooth daily room operations with guidance from senior management.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture and child wellbeing.

About you

This is the perfect first step into nursery leadership. As a Nursery Room Leader, you’ll support and guide your team, work closely with the Deputy and Nursery Manager, and help ensure the room runs smoothly each day. You’ll play an important part in maintaining high standards of care, education and safeguarding, while helping to create a positive environment where both children and staff can thrive. Your Role

As Nursery Room Leader, you will:

• Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members.
• Support all staff and promote a good staff team.
• Lead a small team in your room to provide an exceptional level of childcare.
• supported by the nursery management team.
• Maintain good practice in your room, ensuring that the EYFS is adhered to.
• Keeping records of children's progress, routines, and interests.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• You must have a good understanding of the EYFS and be capable of maintaining children's development records.
• We are committed to safeguarding children, and all posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
• Childcare experience: 3 years+ (Required)
• Management experience: (Preferred but not essential)
