Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing professional, engaging, and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues.
  • Offering warm, sincere, and engaging service to make guests feel valued.
  • Ensuring guest rooms meet Fairmont standards for cleanliness.
  • Reporting maintenance issues in guestrooms and surrounding areas to Royal Service.
  • Reporting ‘out of service’ rooms to the Floor Supervisor or housekeeping office.
  • Treating each guest as a unique individual.
  • Anticipating guests’ needs with thoughtful and personal touches.
  • Resolving guest issues with alternatives, avoiding simply saying “no.”
  • Being an ambassador for the Brand, Hotel, Community, and Colleagues.
  • Adhering to Fairmont core values: respect, integrity, teamwork, and empowerment.
  • Cleaning and stocking the linen closet at the end of your shift.
  • Turning in lost and found items to Security as per standard procedures.
  • Providing night service, such as refreshing rooms in the evening when required.
  • Following all Health & Safety guidelines, especially during epidemics, as established by relevant authorities including WHO and CDC.
  • Performing other duties as assigned within your department.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently in a demanding environment.
  • Physical fitness to stand, lift, push, and pull for long periods.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of hotel facilities and local area is an asset.

Additional Information

  • Walking, standing, bending, pushing, and pulling for 2–6 hours daily.
  • Lifting weights should not exceed 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions are required.
  • Work may involve environmental stress, such as extreme weather, noise, and hazardous machinery.
