Job summary

WPS is seeking an experienced Roofer to join our Responsive Maintenance team, working on a social housing contract in the Barnsley area. You will perform day-to-day roofing repairs and maintenance across occupied properties, delivering high-quality service with a strong focus on safety and customer care.

Key responsibilities include roof inspections, fault diagnosis, and remedial works, ensuring safety standards and company procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Roofer, ideally within social housing or responsive maintenance.
• NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent) – essential.
• Full UK driving licence – essential.
• Experience working in occupied properties.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Reliable, professional and customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive roofing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties.
• Undertake roof inspections, fault diagnosis and remedial works.
• Work in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with schedulers, supervisors and residents.
• Complete job records and materials used via a handheld/PDA system.
• Work collaboratively with other trades when required.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service in occupied homes.
