Job summary

WPS is seeking an experienced Roofer to join our Responsive Maintenance team on a social housing contract in the Barnsley area. You will carry out day-to-day roofing repairs and maintenance across occupied homes, delivering a high-quality service with a strong focus on safety and customer care.

Key requirements include proven roofing experience, NVQ Level 2 in Roofing, a full UK driving licence, and experience working in occupied properties.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Roofer, ideally within social housing or responsive maintenance
• NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent) – essential
• Full UK driving licence – essential
• Experience working in occupied properties
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Reliable, professional and customer focused

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive roofing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties
• Undertake roof inspections, fault diagnosis and remedial works
• Work in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding and company procedures
• Communicate effectively with schedulers, supervisors and residents
• Complete job records and materials used via a handheld/PDA system
• Work collaboratively with other trades when required
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service in occupied homes

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent)
