Job summary

Multi Trades Recruitment is seeking an experienced Roofer to support a well-established social housing maintenance company across South Manchester and surrounding areas. You will carry out reactive maintenance and repairs on occupied and void properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm with on-call rota; pay rate £24.00 per hour. Company van or own van with fuel reimbursement are available, and DBS is preferred but can be arranged before start.

Qualifications

• Qualified / time-served Roofer.
• Valid CSCS card required.
• DBS ideally (can be obtained before start).
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Own tools required.
• Previous social housing / reactive maintenance experience preferred.
• Experienced working in occupied and void properties.

Responsibilities

• Repair pitched and flat roofs on social housing properties.
• Replace damaged or missing roof tiles, slates and ridge tiles.
• Repair roof leaks and investigate water ingress.
• Install and repair lead flashing, felt and roof coverings.
• Repair and replace guttering, fascias and soffits.
• Carry out minor chimney, verge and roofline repairs.
• Complete reactive maintenance jobs across multiple properties.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
• Follow all health & safety procedures.

Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for an Experienced Roofer to begin work for a well-established social housing maintenance company covering South Manchester and surrounding areas.

About the Role

• Working Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm (Sporadic on call rota)
• Pay Rate - £24.00 per hour
• Duration - Up to 8 years contract for the right candidate
• Location - South Manchester - Altrincham, Wythenshawe, Cheadle, Wilmslow and surrounding areas
• Start Date - Early December 2026

Brief Role Description -

Duties Will Include

Vehicle Arrangements

• Company van and fuel card can be provided.
• Alternatively, operatives can use their own van with fuel costs reimbursed.
