Job summary

Multi Trades Recruitment Ltd is seeking experienced Multi Traders to start work for a well-established social housing maintenance company covering South Manchester and surrounding areas.

Role involves reactive maintenance across occupied and void properties with duties spanning brickwork, flooring, plastering, joinery and general repairs. CSCS card, driving licence and own tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in the majority of listed trades.
• Experience in social housing reactive maintenance is preferred.
• Valid CSCS card is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs across social housing properties.
• Perform brickwork repairs, plastering, flooring, joinery and roofing tasks.
• Ensure high-quality finish within agreed timescales.
• Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs across occupied/void properties.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
• Work independently across multiple properties.

Job description

Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for Experienced Multi Traders to begin work for a well-established social housing maintenance company covering South Manchester and surrounding areas.

About the Role:

• Working Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm (Sporadic on call rota)
• Pay Rate - £24.00 per hour
• Duration - Up to 8 years contract for the right candidate
• Location - South Manchester - Altrincham, Wythenshawe, Cheadle, Wilmslow and surrounding areas
• Start Date - Early December 2026

Brief Role Description

We are looking for experienced Multi Traders to carry out reactive maintenance and repair works across occupied and void social housing properties. Candidates must be proficient in the majority of the trades listed below.

Duties will include:

• Brickwork repairs, repointing, blockwork, patch rendering and minor masonry repairs.
• Installing and repairing vinyl, laminate, LVT, Polyflor and Altro flooring.
• Patch plastering, skimming, surface preparation, painting and decorating.
• Door and frame repairs, skirting boards, architraves, kitchen fitting and second-fix joinery.
• Minor roof repairs, replacing tiles, guttering, fascias and soffits.
• Repairing taps, toilets, sinks, leaks, pipework, showers and bathroom fittings.
• Diagnosing maintenance issues and completing reactive repairs across multiple properties.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard within agreed timescales.
• Following all health & safety procedures.

Vehicle Arrangements:

• Company van and fuel card can be provided.
• Alternatively, operatives can use their own van with fuel costs reimbursed.

About You:

• Experienced Multi Trader, proficient in the majority of the trades listed above.
• Valid CSCS card required.
• Valid DBS ideally (can be obtained before start).
• Previous social housing / reactive maintenance experience preferred.
• Experienced working in occupied and void properties.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Own tools required.
• Good attention to detail and quality of finish.
• Able to work independently across multiple properties.
• Punctual and reliable.
