Siemens Mobility is seeking a Rolling Stock Engineer to join the Asset Maintenance Optimisation team in the UK. The role focuses on optimising fleet performance, leading investigations into technical issues, and driving lifecycle cost improvements for rolling stock systems across the asset lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Rolling Stock Optimisation and condition assessment.
• Vehicle maintenance planning experience.
• Experience with Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM).
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of IT systems and engineering software tools (incl. AI tools).
• Ability to investigate technical issues, analyse data and develop practical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into rolling stock engineering issues, technical incidents and safety-related defects; identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Develop maintenance, overhaul and repair strategies to improve safety, availability and performance.
• Produce technical specifications, risk assessments and business cases for improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and customers to deliver engineering solutions that meet safety and performance requirements.
• Monitor industry developments and promote best practices to enhance fleet performance and reliability.
• Ensure adherence to Siemens health, safety and environmental standards.
