The ROC Supervisor delivers resourcing services in line with ROC responsibilities, supporting operational requirements, employee needs and compliance with Trust policies, SOPs and legislation. Reporting to the ROC Manager, they provide day-to-day leadership, line management and escalation support, contributing to local, corporate and national objectives and KPIs.
The post holder manages Operations Resource Coordinators, including recruitment, induction, training, probation, attendance and performance management, wellbeing support, personal development and career conversations. They allocate workload, monitor performance and provide coaching and guidance to maintain service standards.
Working with the ROC Manager and Trust stakeholders, the ROC Supervisor supports workforce planning, resourcing and business continuity activities. They oversee administration of the Global Rostering System (GRS), ensuring staffing records, rota patterns, abstractions and confidential information are maintained accurately and in accordance with policy.
The role includes monitoring resource levels, analysing data, identifying risks and implementing solutions to support operational delivery. The post holder supervises performance against objectives and KPIs, ensures deadlines and quality standards are met, and acts as the first point of escalation, using strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to support ROC staff and service delivery.
The ROC Supervisor oversees workforce planning, scheduling and resourcing activities, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, legislation and contractual requirements while maintaining appropriate staffing levels. They monitor resourcing trends, identify risks, implement solutions and elevate concerns where necessary. Responsibilities include annual leave allocation, absence management, learning and development requirements and student placements.
The post holder oversees absence coordination processes, ensuring the accurate recording and management of sickness, annual leave and other abstractions, while providing guidance to managers and staff and maintaining confidentiality standards.
They supervise the administration and development of the Global Rostering System (GRS), ensuring data quality, rota compliance, personnel records, timesheets and payroll-related information are maintained accurately, while supporting system testing, reporting and continuous improvement activities.
The ROC Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership to Operations Resource Coordinators through workload management, coaching, training, performance management and quality assurance. Acting as a key escalation point, they manage sensitive issues, support operational projects, deputise for the ROC Manager when required, contribute to departmental objectives and KPIs, manage delegated budgets, and promote a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
