Job summary

Lancaster Instruments Ltd. designs and builds precision machines and robotics. This on-site, full-time role sits in a small workshop where you’ll build, test and fine‑tune robotic systems alongside engineers. You’ll learn quickly, take care with your work and contribute to a safe, organized workspace.

You’ll assemble machines from prototypes to finished systems, modify parts, and gain CNC exposure. Relocation isn’t offered; commuting distance to Lancaster is essential.

Qualifications

• You're practical and good with tools.
• You learn quickly and want to keep learning.
• You're reliable and enjoy working in a small team.
• No degree required; relevant hands-on experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble robotic and automated machines, from one-off prototypes to finished systems.
• Keep the workshop organised, stocked and safe.
• Make and modify parts using workshop tools and machines, with training on our CNC machines if you haven't used them before.
• Help test machines and get them ready to go to customers.
• Pick up new skills as projects need them, with support from the team.
