Job summary

AUAR in London is seeking a hands-on technician to help build our next MicroFactory in the London workshop, from kit of parts to finished machine. The role is largely mechanical, involving fitting sensors and assembling large tables.

You'll work from drawings with our engineers, reporting to Ric Zhang, Hardware Design Engineer. This is an on-site role, 5 days a week, 9am-6pm, for an 8-week contract starting 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Hands-on build experience and workshop work in a hands-on environment.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Mechanical systems and sensor knowledge applied in assembly.
• Self-directed with attention to detail and problem solving.
• Formal engineering qualifications welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Kitting: gather parts and assemble sub-assemblies.
• Mechanical assembly: fit hardware to drawings and tables.
• Electrical and sensor installation alongside the team.
• Inspection: verify sub-assemblies against drawings.
• Maintain workshop standards: tidy, safe and organised.
• Provide feedback to engineering on drawing issues.
