Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Staff Robotics Control Engineer in London to lead the evolution of its whole-body control for the Wheeled Alpha platform. You will own the control architecture, coordinate multi-body motion, and push MPC-based approaches while mentoring a team of engineers.

You will work within a safety-conscious environment, integrating with hardware teams and defining rigorous performance metrics. The role is full-time and on-site in London, offering equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in optimisation-based whole-body control with hierarchical/weighted QP.
• Experience deploying WBC on humanoids or mobile manipulators.
• Strong knowledge of URDF-based modeling and dynamics in real time.
• Proficiency in C++ (real-time) and Python for analysis.
• Ability to mentor engineers and coordinate with hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the whole-body controller architecture and solver choices.
• Coordinate base, torso and dual-arm motion within a single formulation.
• Own safety-integrated control interfaces and recovery when solvers fail.
• Develop MPC-based control approaches and evaluate performance on hardware.
• Define performance metrics and ensure reproducible evaluation.
