Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs and support members across the UK. You’ll work independently, manage fast, confident solutions, and provide reassurance when breakdowns strike.

The role offers a strong base pay, realistic bonus potential via overtime and a structured development pathway with IMI accreditation and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and give quick, safe solutions.
• Work independently to solve problems and assist members.
• Develop skills through ongoing training and accreditation.
