Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician for a national breakdown company, based at Heathrow. The role offers substantial OTE with earnings potential above £61,000 and a flexible Superflex schedule.

Typical hours are 40 per week with shifts from early morning to late night, including occasional overnights. Benefits include pension, life cover, career progression and employee wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
