Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside across Bournemouth and surrounding areas, with night shifts.

You will need Level 2 LV Maintenance and Repair, 2+ years hands-on experience, a clean UK driving licence, and the right to work in the UK. The role offers overtime, a bonus scheme and career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred.
• Minimum two years of post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points and no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and diagnose vehicle faults.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs.
• Replace batteries, change wheels and perform minor engine repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and repair options.
• Provide temporary repairs to maintain customer mobility.
• Advise customers on repairs, recovery and next steps.
• Work safely across different roadside environments.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Roadside Technician, Mobile Vehicle Technician, Mobile Mechanic or Breakdown Technician covering Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Applicants must hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, have at least two years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience, a Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points and no bans, and the right to work in the UK.

Roadside Technician - Nights

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: £42,920 basic + overtime + bonus £65,000+ achievable

Hours: 40 hours per week, between 6:00pm and 6:00am, Monday to Sunday

Roadside Technician Role

Roadside Technician Requirements

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent
• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred
• Minimum two years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience
• Experience within a workshop, mobile vehicle or roadside environment
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills
• Customer-focused approach
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points and no driving bans
