Job summary

Roadside Technician position based in Milton Keynes for a national breakdown company. The role involves attending roadside breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical/electrical repairs at the roadside, with a strong emphasis on keeping members mobile.

You will use diagnostic tools, provide temporary fixes when needed, and advise members on next steps, including recovery if required. A minimum Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) and 2 years’ experience, plus a full UK licence, are

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs including battery changes and wheel replacements.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to restore mobility.
• Advise members on next steps and recovery if needed.

Job description

Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Location: Milton Keynes

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: Up to £60,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role
40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role

• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

What youll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
