Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics while providing emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and finish from home, with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit supplied, enabling fast, confident service for members.

You’ll need a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician, plus a full UK driving licence (≤6 points) to join

Qualifications

• Problem solving and diagnostic mindset to identify faults roadside.
• Strong customer-facing skills to reassure members during breakdowns.
• Ability to follow repair procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repairs and component diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work from home base to plan and execute call-outs with RAC van and tools.
