Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults and perform expert roadside repairs across the UK. You’ll handle emergency breakdowns, deliver fast, confident solutions, and keep motorists moving with high‑quality service.

The role offers a structured development pathway and opportunities to achieve IMI accreditation. Starting with a strong base salary (£36,400) and realistic OTE (£61,000), the RAC provides overtime options, training, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Either NVQ Level 2 qualification with 2+ years’ experience
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults independently to get members back on the road quickly
• Offer confident, customer‑focused service during every call
