Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to help members continue their journeys safely, while working independently with a strong customer focus.

Starting from your driveway with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime, this role offers structured development and IMI accreditation as you progress.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue their journeys safely.
