Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform on-the-spot repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support to members, ensuring safe and smooth journeys.

Starting from home or driveway, you'll work 40-hour weeks with optional overtime. The role includes a structured development programme and potential IMI accreditation as you build a long-term career with RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and driving licence with <6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform expert mechanical roadside repairs.
• Provide vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and restore journeys quickly.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and support customers on-site.
