Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and help members continue their journeys safely.

Starting on your driveway with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, the role offers overtime, a structured development pathway, and opportunities to achieve IMI accreditation and build a long-term career with RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and repair on the roadside.
• Offer quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
