Job summary

Direct Line Group is seeking a motor breakdown technician to work across a range of locations including Tadworth. You will diagnose faults, carry a full tool kit and aim to get customers back on the road quickly. The role is 40 hours across four days with day patterns between 7am–8pm and optional overtime.

The job offers a base salary up to £40,000 with an OTE of £44,000–£48,000, plus a 9% employer-contributed pension and other benefits.

Qualifications

• 21+ for insurance purposes.
• Current Category B driving licence is necessary.
• NVQ Level 2 or similar accreditation in light vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Demonstrate empathy and desire to achieve the correct outcome.
• Experience of the Motor Repair industry.
• Experience of lone working (desirable).
• Utilise up-to-date vehicle repair techniques.
• Health & Safety best practices.
• Collaborate with dispatch team to improve the customer claims journey.
• Use self-initiative.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle issues and determine required repairs.
• Provide on-site assistance to get customers back on the move.
• Operate with a full kit on board and ensure customer confidence.
• Work within shift patterns and potential overtime as required.
