Job summary

Direct Line Group’s Green Flag operation seeks a mobile breakdown technician working nationwide from home bases. You will diagnose issues, provide on-site repairs and use a full kit to get customers moving again. The role is 40 hours over four days with shifts between 7am–8pm, including potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 21 years or over for insurance purposes.
• Current Category B driving licence is necessary.
• NVQ Level 2 or similar accreditation in light vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Demonstrate empathy and a desire to achieve the correct outcome.
• Experience of the Motor Repair industry.
• Experience of lone working (desirable).
• Utilise up-to-date vehicle repair techniques.
• Display Health & Safety best practices.
• Collaborate with dispatch to improve the customer claims journey.
• Use self-initiative.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults on-site and carry out repairs as needed.
• Provide a reassuring service, with a full kit on board to get customers moving.
• Diagnose, assess requirements and resolve issues to restore journeys.
• Work with dispatch to improve the claims journey for customers.
