Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited seeks a Roadside Technician in Salisbury to provide national breakdown support as a field-based specialist. The role offers a strong base salary with lucrative OTE, overtime, and bonus opportunities along with a comprehensive benefits package.

You will respond to roadside faults, perform repairs at the roadside, use diagnostics, and keep members mobile while advising on next steps.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions to keep members mobile until full repair.
• Advise members on next steps including recovery when needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments.

Roadside Technician

Roadside Technician (field-based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Shift and schedule

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.

• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
