Amey Ltd invites applications for a Highways Maintenance Operative at Westhoughton Depot in North West England. You will be part of Area 10 Strategic Highways, carrying out routine maintenance, minor civil works and winter response to keep the network safe and efficient.

The role requires a driving licence (HGV Class C/2), CSCS card, and a proactive safety mindset with strong collaboration with teams and partners.

Mansioni

• Carrying out routine and cyclic highway maintenance activities.
• Supporting minor civil engineering works and general highway upkeep.
• Installing and removing temporary traffic management systems.
• Undertaking winter maintenance operations and emergency response duties.
• Driving and operating vehicles and plant equipment, including completing daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks.
• Completing litter picking and environmental maintenance activities across the network.
• Recording driver hours and defect reporting documentation.
• Capturing time and resource utilisation through company systems.
• Attending work briefings and maintaining high standards.
• Communicating with colleagues, subcontractors, clients, emergency services and the public.
