Job summary

Amey is hiring Highways Maintenance Operatives in Peterhead to join our NMC NE Account on a full-time permanent basis. The role covers routine and winter maintenance, patching, and operation of highway assets, with a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday 8:00–16:30, Friday finish 15:30, with occasional night shifts.

You will need a full UK driving licence, experience in roads or street works, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
• Be self-motivated and able to work within a team.
• Winter maintenance experience is advantageous.
• HGV licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake highway maintenance tasks including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement and drainage maintenance.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant, with all checks and routine maintenance.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties, including emergency callouts.
• Prioritise safety for yourself and the team.
• Keep records and liaise with Amey employees, subcontractors, emergency services, police and customers.
