Job summary

Amey is seeking a Highways Technology Engineer to support the maintenance and repair of roadside technology assets across the National Highways network. The role involves reactive and planned works, diagnostics, and reporting from the West Cowick depot in Goole with travel across Area 12.

You will join a team delivering safe, efficient road networks, requiring strong fault-finding, a driving licence, and experience in highways tech. Amey offers development and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Relevant electrical or engineering qualification is required.
• Experience in highways technology or a similar engineering environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance on highways technology assets (signs, signals, CCTV, emergency telephones and weather stations).
• Undertake planned maintenance in line with client requirements, manufacturer guidance and British Standards.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on highways technology equipment.
• Produce accurate maintenance, inspection and repair reports.
• Provide technical advice to colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Support project delivery, coordinating with suppliers and authorities.
• Assist with technology upgrades, commissioning and asset improvement programmes.
• Support emergency response activities when required.
