Job summary

Balfour Beatty Living Places is looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Warwickshire team. This is a hands-on role delivering a wide range of highway construction and maintenance activities that help keep local infrastructure safe, operational and maintained to the highest standards.

Working across the Warwickshire and Solihull contract, you will undertake essential maintenance and repair works, support emergency and winter service operations, and contribute to the delivery of a

Qualifications

• Highway construction and maintenance works.
• Footway construction and carriageway repairs.
• Drainage, kerbing, slabbing and block paving.
• Traffic management activities.
• Safe use of plant and equipment.
• Driving and working within operational environments.
• Manual handling and site-based construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out highway maintenance and construction activities safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Complete pothole repairs, footway reconstruction, drainage works, kerbing, block paving, concreting and related civil engineering tasks.
• Install and maintain street furniture, fencing, ironworks and traffic management systems.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with health, safety and quality requirements.
• Use plant, equipment and machinery appropriately and safely.
• Manage materials effectively and support efficient site operations.
• Assist with emergency response and winter maintenance activities when required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, subcontractors and clients.
• Promote a positive culture of safety, professionalism and customer service.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the successful delivery of operational targets.
