Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative (Road Marking) based at our Aston Birmingham depot. The role is hands-on, outdoors, and involves operating specialist lining vehicles to apply road markings safely and to high technical standards.

You'll work as part of the Road Markings team, carry out vehicle checks, site duties, risk assessments, and liaise with clients and the public. A full driving licence and commitment to safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for safety compliance and protecting the public.
• Complete risk assessments, keep records, and liaise with clients, emergency services, and the public.

Job description

We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative Road Marking to join our team based in Thimble Mill Lane Depot, Aston Birmingham. This is a hands-on position where you'll be working with specialist equipment and contributing to the safety and quality of our road infrastructure.

Location: Thimble Mill Lane Depot, Aston Birmingham B7 5HR
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week

What will you be responsible for?

As a Highways Maintenance Operative Road Marking, you'll be working within the Road Markings team, supporting them in maintaining road markings to the highest standards across our highways network. Your day to day will include:

• Maintaining road markings to high technical standards and attending project briefings
• Driving and operating specialist lining vehicles and plant, including vehicle checks and routine maintenance
• Undertaking all aspects of road marking and specialist surface application works
• Taking responsibility for safety compliance and protecting the public
• Completing risk assessments, keeping records, and liaising with clients, emergency services, and the public
