Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair Dynapac road construction equipment across the South of England. You will work independently at customer sites with support from a technical team, ensuring maximum machine uptime and excellent customer experience.

The role requires diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, carrying out planned maintenance, and identifying opportunities for aftermarket sales.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent) in Plant, Agricultural, Construction Equipment or HGV Engineering.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or similar mobile equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Dynapac road construction equipment to OEM standards.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, parts and aftermarket sales.
• Work closely with Customer Support Representatives and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
• Install software updates, machine enhancements and technical modifications.
• Complete electronic job cards, service reports, timesheets and associated documentation accurately and in real time.
• Order and manage parts in line with company processes.
• Participate in call-out and breakdown support rotas when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across your territory.
• Attend technical training and development activities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
