Job summary

SMT is a leading full-service distribution company specialising in machinery and trucks. We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer - Road Equipment to join our Customer Support team, covering the South of England and beyond to maximise machine uptime for Dynapac road construction equipment.

You will service, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites, diagnose faults, install software updates, and build strong customer relationships while working with a capable team of colleagues

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification in Plant, Construction Equipment or HGV Engineering (NVQ/C&G or equivalent).
• Proven experience servicing heavy plant, construction equipment or similar mobile equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Dynapac road construction equipment to OEM standards.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, parts and aftermarket sales.
• Work with internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
• Install software updates and machine enhancements.
