Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 20-bed Transitional Care Unit. The role supports patient care with supervision of nursing assistants, medication administration, and adherence to regulations.

New grads welcome and both full-time and part-time options are available, with shifts including 7a-3p and 3p-11p on a rotating weekend basis. The base pay ranges from $40.00 to $44.00 per hour plus applicable diffs, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Knowledge of geriatric nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Experience in Skilled Nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the unit.
• Ensures physician orders and documentation are timely and appropriate.
• Conducts resident rounds, reports issues to nursing supervisor and initiates corrective action.
• Identifies resident problems and emergencies and initiates life-saving actions within nursing scope.
• Administers and documents medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments per orders and records observations daily.
