Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Risk Manager to support the risk management framework across projects at Basildon and Southampton, with occasional travel to other UK sites and possibly Italy. You will act as the local SME for the Leonardo Risk Management framework, providing governance, assurance and challenge to IPTs.

Responsibilities include overseeing risk policies, monitoring the RM framework, mentoring Risk Managers, and delivering risk insights to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical or business subject.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise and project risk management frameworks and standards.
• Highly numerate with experience of statistical and financial modelling, including Monte Carlo.
• Ability to translate risk information into clear, decision-focused insight.
• Experience with MS Office and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and challenge to ensure compliance with risk management policies, standards, and governance requirements.
• Contribute to the definition, monitoring and continuous improvement of the RM Framework and oversee the implementation of the risk management process.
• Support IPTs to identify, assess and manage risks and opportunities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality of risk information.
• Advise on appropriate risk treatment and mitigation strategies.
• Analyse post-treatment residual risk using Monte Carlo analysis to inform decisions and forecasts.
• Support contingency setting, justification, and ongoing management, aligned with risk exposure and appetite.
• Produce risk reports with timely, accurate, decision-focused insight.
• Aggregate/analyze risk trends and AI predictive analysis across projects to drive improvements.
• Mentor Project Risk Managers and analyse processes for data quality and knowledge base.
