Job summary

Law Staff Legal Recruitment is recruiting a Risk and Compliance Lawyer on the Hertfordshire/Essex border. The role targets professionals with 2–6 years’ experience and a focus on data protection, AML, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Responsibilities include handling data protection matters, subject access requests, onboarding support, AML/KYC checks, and responses to client complaints. Hybrid work available after probation with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–6 years’ experience in a law firm
• Solid knowledge of data protection requirements
• Experience with AML/KYC and regulatory compliance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day data protection compliance matters
• Manage subject access requests and responses to potential data breaches
• Support onboarding processes for the firm
• Conduct AML and KYC checks in line with UK regulations
• Assist with ongoing AML compliance activity and risk reviews
• Manage and respond to risk queries and client complaints
• Assist with file audits and compliance reviews
