Job summary

Career Legal in London is seeking a Risk & Compliance Counsel (Conflicts) on a permanent basis, offering hybrid working from the London office. England & Wales qualified lawyer with 3+ years in conflicts and new client intake is essential.

You will analyse conflicts, draft waivers, train staff, and collaborate with OGC and Risk Committees to manage risk. The role requires commuting to London and preferably experience with Intapp Conflicts/Intake/Terms and Walls; strong ethics and policy

Qualifications

• England & Wales qualified lawyer with 3+ years' experience in legal conflicts and new client intake.
• Ability to commute to London office.
• Experience using Intapp Conflicts/Intake/Terms and Walls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analysing and addressing potential conflicts with new business intake and lateral hires.
• Ensuring that client engagement terms comply with firm policy.
• Drafting waivers and maintaining ethical walls.
• Providing training for legal and non-legal staff on risk management and compliance policies/procedures.

Our client, a top US law firm, is actively seeking an England & Wales Qualified Lawyer with a background in Risk & Compliance/Legal Conflicts, to join them on a permanent basis in their London office - working as their new Risk & Compliance Counsel.

As the successful Risk & Compliance Counsel, you'll be responsible for:

• Analysing and addressing potential conflicts associated with new business intake and lateral hires
• Ensuring that terms of engagement with clients comply with firm policy
• Drafting waivers and maintaining ethical walls
• Providing training for legal and non-legal staff on the firm's risk management and compliance policies/procedures
• Maintaining knowledge of trends/developments impacting conflicts
• Resolving complex issues alongside OGC, Risk Management Committees and New Business leadership
