Job Description:

• Nationwide travel
• About the role
• Responsible for delivering the health, safety, and environmental risk strategy as set by the Head of Safety & Risk.
• Implementing ISO certified safety and environmental management systems.
• Serving as Subject Matter Expert for Smiths News on Health and Safety, Environmental risk, and Safety Culture, including road transport and operational yard safety at various locations.
• Owning company health and safety policies, training programs, and audit regimes, ensuring appropriate management.
• Delivering Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness programs to foster positive behaviors and a just safety culture.
• Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as the HSE, DVSA, Local Authorities, and trade bodies.
• Investigating incidents and accidents with trained colleagues and liaising with external stakeholders like emergency services and media as needed.

About you

• At least Nebosh Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Experience with ISO 45001 and integrated systems
• Auditing qualifications and experience
• Environmental Risk qualifications
• Extensive accident investigation experience with root cause analysis
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to influence senior stakeholders
• A valid UK driving license (company car may be provided)
