Job summary

The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a Rigging and Lifting Supervisor to lead complex lifting operations across venues. You will interpret technical drawings, develop safe systems of work, and work 44 hours per week in a busy live theatre environment.

Reporting to the Head of Automation and Rigging, you will manage the planning, procurement, maintenance and inspection of rigging equipment, drive safety culture, and ensure high standards of performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• NRC Level 3 accreditation is essential.
• Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety law (LOLER and PUWER).
• Experience leading rigging and lifting operations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate designs into safe rigging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop lifting plans, RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Lead rigging and de-rigging of lifting equipment.
• Advise on rigging operations and equipment preparation.
• Develop Working at Height policy and procedures.
• Manage procurement, maintenance and inspection of rigging gear.
• Lead operational reviews and debriefs to share learnings.
