Job summary

Mount Charles Group is seeking an experienced Cleaning Operative to join the team at Radius Cairndale, Belfast. You will clean and service your allocated area to the required standard, with shifts 08:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, 12 hours per week.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals, good attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Benefits include holidays, pension, training, and support services.

Responsibilities

• Clean all designated areas to required standards and complete weekly/periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Operate cleaning equipment correctly after training.
• Report faulty equipment and tag it as faulty.
• Maintain safety signage and warn customers where appropriate.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment safely stored.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

The Person:

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience
• Are customer focused with good eye for detail
• Good time management skills
• Experience of working on your own and ensuring set tasks are completed.
• Leads by example and lives our values.
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
