Job summary

Mount Charles Group is hiring a Cleaning Team Lead for our Friends School site in Lisburn. The role involves leading a team of cleaners to ensure cleaning tasks are completed to required standards within a 25-hour week, Monday to Friday 15:30–20:30.

The successful candidate will follow COSHH guidelines, operate cleaning equipment safely and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment. We offer an equal opportunities policy and supportive development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to lead a small team to meet cleaning standards.
• Good communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cleaners to ensure areas are cleaned to required standards (weekly and periodic tasks).
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to guidelines (COSHH).
• Be competent with cleaning equipment and use it only after proper training.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and ensure safety signage is in place.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.

The Role:

• Along with your team ofcleaners, you will ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and 'warn' customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
