Job summary

Portsmouth Water is looking for a Billing and Revenue Assurance Lead to shape the future of our billing operations within the Debt Management team. You will ensure accurate and timely bills, drive performance, and provide insights to support a modern, data-driven billing environment.

You will monitor billing health, manage data quality, and collaborate across Finance, Customer Services, Product, and external partners to maintain end-to-end billing integrity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in billing, revenue assurance, or financial controls.
• Strong understanding of billing systems (Kraken experience highly desirable).
• Good understanding of tariff structures, billing agreements, consumption data, and revenue assurance controls.
• Analytical mindset with experience in developing KPIs and performance dashboards.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing data quality and operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Own billing assurance and performance, maintaining controls, KPIs, and governance for timely, accurate billing and approvals.
• Monitor billing health across the portfolio and resolve late bills, aged unbilled accounts, gaps, held bills, and risks.
• Drive billing accuracy and data quality, including meter readings, customer data validation, tariff changes, and consumption reporting.
• Support smart meter rollout activities, assessing impacts and adapting processes to evolving data flows.
• Develop management information, reporting and insights from billing performance data to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with Finance, Customer Services, Product, Wholesale and partners to maintain end-to-end billing integrity.
• Act as a contact for billing audits and regulatory reviews, including non-household billing controls.
