Job summary

COOK Taunton is seeking a friendly Retail Team Member to welcome customers, assist with menu choices, and promote offers. You will keep the shop clean, stocked, and ensure tills run smoothly, while delivering great service.

Full training is provided; no prior retail experience is required. You’ll work across our multi-channel setup including Click & Collect and local delivery, helping achieve daily and weekly sales targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in Retail or customer-facing roles welcomed.
• Full training provided on COOK products and processes.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Offer remarkable service with the customer at heart of every interaction.
• Help customers plan menus and advise on catering for occasions; discuss offers and promotions.
• Keep the shop immaculate, stock rotated, and freezers full; manage stock checks as required.
• Operate the till efficiently and accurately; understand shop paperwork and legal checks.
• Engage in our multi-channel business, including local delivery, Click & Collect, and in-store sales to hit targets.
• Support the Shop Leader and teammates, maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.

Pay rate :£13.45 Per Hour

Join Our Retail Team! There's more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that's thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We're looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business - make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Be fully engaged in our multi-channel business, which includes running a local delivery service, Click and Collect and traditional shop sales, and work together to achieve our daily and weekly sales targets.
• Support your Shop Leader and fellow team members by supporting and caring for each other's wellbeing. Have a can-do attitude and always be ready to work as a team.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop.
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
