Job summary

WHSmith is seeking a Team Leader in Plymouth to guide and inspire a customer-facing team, delivering exceptional service and achieving store objectives. You will champion a learning culture, support colleagues’ development, and help ensure safe, compliant store operations.

You will bring recent retail leadership experience, a proactive, hands-on approach, and strong communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and customers.

Qualifications

• Current/recent retail leadership experience (preferably in a fast-paced environment) with working knowledge of KPI’s such as ATV.
• Experience of proactively leading from the front, getting stuck in, and helping your team on the shop floor.
• Flexibility to support other stores in the area when needed.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Experience of supporting employee training and development, and motivating teams to deliver their best.

Responsibilities

• Guide and engage the team to deliver excellent standards and results in line with the Trading plan.
• Create a culture of learning, support and recognition—spot opportunities for development of personal skills and product knowledge.
• Support colleagues in an environment where everyone feels valued and welcome.
