Job summary

Morrisons is seeking an Operations Manager to keep our stores running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Deputising for the Store Manager, you’ll lead from the front to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every colleague feels valued, supported, and ready to succeed.

You’ll take ownership of store operations, drive high standards, and coach department managers to build a confident, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail and managing large, fast-paced store operations with weekly turnover of at least £150k.
• Ability to coach department managers and build high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower the team: Build management capability across the store, mentoring talent and supporting department heads with clear plans to help them grow.
• Keep standards high, safe, and legal: Act as the store's expert on safe and legal standards, ensuring food safety laws, hygiene, and daily routines are delivered properly every shift.
• Drive sales and availability: Use your commercial mindset to review store data, spot opportunities, and manage resources so our shelves are always well-stocked for our customers.
• Listen and improve: Work to support teams through change, listening directly to customer feedback and acting on it to keep making our daily service better.
