Job summary

ASEL, based in Glasgow, is seeking a Retail Security Officer to deter crime, respond to incidents, and report comprehensively. You will patrol the store, liaise with local authorities, and manage situations with empathy, while adhering to policy and procedures.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, 5-year checkable history, and right-to-work documentation. 40+ hours weekly across 0800–2200 shifts, at an hourly rate of £13.45.

Qualifications

• You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
• Previous experience in a Retail Security Role is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
• Applicants must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history.
• You must have a current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence to apply for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible deterrence and respond to incidents.
• Complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities.
• Carry out guarding responsibilities in-store.
• Patrol the shop floor and deter criminals.
• Liaise with management and local authorities as needed.
• Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
• Carry out colleague and contractor searches when required.
• Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for planning.
• Prepare detailed and legible incident reports to assist the Client and Local Authorities.
