Job summary

BardWood Support Services is seeking a Retail Security Officer for a busy Newquay store. You’ll patrol premises, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents while maintaining professionalism with staff and customers.

The role starts with a Sunday shift 06:00–09:00 and offers benefits upon transfer after 12 weeks, including SIA license renewal and various financial perks. A strong safety mindset and visible presence are essential.

Qualifications

• SIA license required.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
• Physically fit to undertake tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the retail store premises.
• Monitor entry/exit points and investigate disturbances.
• Call for help in emergencies and operate theft-detecting devices.
• Handle large crowds and maintain positive customer relations.

About the role

Title – Retail Security Officer

Pay Rate – £13.10

Location – Newquay

Shift Timings – Sunday 06:00–09:00.

You will be working in a well-known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft-detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
